A new blog idea.

I have been kicking around an idea for my blog. I want to focus on my followers more. Those who have taken the time to read and then decided to follow. Each week I will be picking out a follower of my blog who's art I really connect too.
It's important in our art world to acknowledge other artists. We gain so much more if we focus on not just our own work but the work of others.
My first artist is Keirsten Giles. I found out about Keirsten though the Bead Soup blog hop run by Lori Anderson. She had stopped by my blog to take a peek at my Bead Soup necklace, and I stopped by hers.
I was blown away. It is unique and very well made. I think that's the first thing I noticed. The attention to detail. Each wrap perfectly placed, the wire with a perfect patina, tumbled and then polished. I think it is really evident in the copper/brass bracelet.
You can find her work on her Etsy site. I am so glad to have met her in the cyber world. We plan on working together on some projects in the future so stay tuned.
Is their someone who follows your blog that you want to feature?
I believe that reaching out to other artists only helps us all. The more we support each other the better we all become.

  6. Great idea Libby! There is so much talent out there, so many wonderful designers and artisans. I want to get to know them all. I will be watching and maybe finding some new friends along the way. That Kiersten is a lovely soul. She is funny and oh-so-amazing when it comes to putting the finishing touches on her creations. I have stalked, er, I mean, admired her pieces for so long! I think that the two of you will do great things together!
    Enjoy the day!

(My predication for you personally, is that your pods will become "The Glass To Own" in the year 2011. Your work is hot!)

  15. Libby this is an amazing idea, what a great way for artists to recognize one another and to connect. I'm a total newbie to the blogging world. Bead Soup Party was my start. So I have so much to learn. But seeing and reading about other's with a love for their own personal creative outlet is inspiring.
